Spatial Cognition and Healing Geometry: Neuropsychological Insights from Symbolic Design
Abstract
This study investigates how exposure to recursive geometric structures inspired by Mandombe activates neural patterns associated with emotional regulation and visual-spatial coherence. EEG mapping and behavioral scales (n = 80) helped researchers observe improved prefrontal activation coherence and reduced limbic hyperactivity in designed environments, suggesting symbolic balance. The findings support the therapeutic potential of indigenous geometry as a neuropsychological stimulus for stress recovery and self-regulation, in line with research.
